Sic Bo

Sic Bo is a game that is played with three dice. Derived from an ancient Chinese game - like many other online casino games you will find today - the game enables you to bet on certain dice combinations. You can bet on single dice, two dice, three dice or combinations of two or three dice.

The Sequence

Play starts by placing the chips in the demarcated betting areas on the table. The dealer will then place the three dice in the shaker and roll. With online casinos, the dice are rolled using randomizing formulas to ensure fairness. Once the dice have "landed", the winnings are automatically calculated.

The Bets

With any new casino game, you need to learn the types of bets you can make before even attempting to play. The betting sequence is one of the most important aspects of Sic Bo. In this game, you can make up to 13 different bets. This may sound confusing but these bets are relatively simple compared with games such as keno and poker.

• Six of these bets are made on single dice by betting on any of the numbers coming up. Due to the fact that there are three dice in the game, the chances of hitting are reasonably high on at least one of them. For this reason, you will be paid out 1:1. If you hit the number on two of the dice, you will be paid 2:1 and on all three you will be paid out 3:1.
• The next bet you can make is on a pair of numbers - example 2, 8. If 2, 8 is rolled on any of the two dice then you will be paid out 5:1.
• Another pair bet you can make is on any pair landing and this pays out 8:1.
• Similarly, you can bet on any trip landing and this pays out 24:1.
• Some number combinations have a much higher chance of landing than others. For example, the number 6 can be made up of 5 & 1; 4 & 2; 3 & 3. However, the number 11 can only be made up of 5 & 6. This is why the payout for betting on a total for all three dice varies from 6:1 to 50:1.
• You can also bet "small" or "big" which is a bet on either 4-10 or 11-17.
• The biggest payout is when you place a bet on a specific trip landing and you can be paid out as much as 150:1.
